The Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) hereby congratulates Mr. Molefi Ntseki on his appointment as the new head coach for South Africa’s national soccer team – Bafana Bafana. Originally born in Excelsior and spent the pinnacle of his coaching career in Welkom, Mr. Ntseki has contributed immensely towards the development of football within youth structures in South Africa. His coaching track record includes; Welkom Stars F.C. head coach (1998-2002), Founder and Coach of Harmony Sport Academy (2002-2007), African Warriors F.C. head coach (2007-2009), S.A. u/20 and u/23 assistant coach, Bloemfontein Celtic assistant coach (2010-2012).

“DSACR welcomes Mr. Ntseki’s appointment as it reaffirms the confidence that the South African Football Association (SAFA) and the general football community in our country has in local coaches who have an in-depth understanding of the style of South African football. Mr. Ntseki guided the S.A. u/17 team to a runners-up finish at the 2015 African u/17 championships as well as to the group stages of the 2015 FIFA u/17 World Cup. He recently served as an assistant coach for Bafana Bafana and together with his predecessor Stuart Baxter; he helped the national team reach the quarter finals of the 2019 AFCON Cup. With him at the helm of Bafana Bafana, the future of South African football looks bright,” said Free State MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Mrs. Limakatso Mahasa.
