Department’s High Performance Boxers perform

The MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Mr. D.A.M. Kgothule would like to congratulate the Boxing High Performance athletes that performed beyond expectation at the Inter-Provincial Boxing Tournament in Kimberley. Ten (10) of the Department’s High Performance Boxers took part at the Inter-Provincial Tournament at the Freedom Boxing Club in Galeshewe on Saturday 12 October 2013. All the boxers competed in their respective weight categories final and Team Free State also won the trophy for: “Best team at the Tournament” Here are the results: Age Group Name Award Seniors G Pilane Gold Medal and Best Boxer at the Tournament trophy M Phalole Gold Medal T Radikgomo Gold Medal L Temeki Gold Medal A Maloisane Gold Medal Juniors M Motadingoane Gold Medal L Tsolo Gold Medal S Nokhona Silver Medal T Kgotle Gold Medal L Lekale Gold Medal “The Free State continues to create waves in the sporting arena on a global stage. The High Performance Centers for Boxing, Karate, Badminton and Netball are proving to be a worthwhile investment. I wish to congratulate these boxers for using these facilities to their advantage and in doing so, showing the rest of the country what the value of these government institutions are when it comes to developing world class athletes.” stated Mr. Kgothule.
