Department to hand over hand cycle

The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation is proud to announce the handing over of a state of the art hand cycle to Patrick Rasedimo from Zone 3 Thaba Nchu. Patrick is an athlete competing on national level, representing the Free State Province. Patrick has represented South Africa successfully and has earned several medals in the process.


The MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Mr. Dan Kgothule, reacted to a plea from Patrick for assistance with regards to the sponsoring of this highly advanced piece of sporting equipment. Mr. Kgothule heard an interview on radio, and immediately responded by committing the support of the Department.


“We cannot afford to have first class athletes in the province and not have them compete due to a lack of equipment. It is our duty and responsibility to the community to ensure that our athletes be afforded every opportunity to perform.” Mr. Kgothule said.


The hand cycle is a force R hand Cycle is the latest super-recumbent hand cycle model in the Force racing series. This hand cycle is designed for one thing and that is performance. It is aerodynamic, stiff and fast. The Force R hand cycle is outfitted with everything you need to move up to the next level and built with heat -treated 7005 aluminum ribbed tubes.


Some of the features: Steering dampener, multi position adjustable footrest system with safety straps, ovalised 7005 aluminum frame with varied wall thickness, parking brake & Reflectors.


The supplier of this bike is based in Cape Town his name is Ernst Van Dyk he is also racer himself, the bike was ordered from the U.S.A.
