Department to send off Choirs to represent the Free State at the National Finals

On Saturday 30 November 2013, the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation in collaboration with LECMA, the Choral Association in the Free State, will be sending of two (2) choirs to the National Choral finals. The Ceremony is an annual event that seeks to support the choirs that are going to attend the finals of the Old Mutual National Choir Festival in Durban on 7 and 8 December at the International Convention Center in Durban. The Choirs are: Free State Choristers Serumula Choir These Choirs won their respective categories at the Old Mutual Provincial Choral Competition, held on 6 October 2013 at the City Hall in Bloemfontein. The Department is both proud and confident of the participating choirs, and is looking forward to announcing these choirs as some of the top rated choirs in South Africa. The Ceremony will include the following: Date: Activity Venue: Time: 30 November 2013 Opening of the LECMA Provincial Conference Musicon Hall 10:00 – 13:30 30 November 2013 Orchestra Rehearsal For both Choirs Bloemfontein Civic Theatre 14:00 – 16:00 30 November 2013 Official Send of Ceremony and Free State Choral Music Awards Bloemfontein Civic Theatre 18:00 – Finish

Each Choir will receive the following:

1. Formal attire for both Choirs.
2. Orchestra Rehearsal for all choirs on 30 November 2013
