SOCIAL SUPPORT TO FREE STATE (FS) ARTISTS APPLICATION In addition to the Relief Fund and 4IR resources made available to mitigate against widespread cancellation of festivals, music concerts, exhibitions, productions and other events in the wake of the COVID 19 Pandemic, the FSACC has now extended the scope to include social support to Free State artists and creative industry workers infected or affected by the COVID 19 pandemic.

DSACR OFFICIAL CROWNED 2021 MISS PLUS INTERCONTINENTAL SOUTH AFRICA

The Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) would like to take this opportunity to convey its congratulatory message to Ms Dipolelo Hou for winning the 2021 Miss Plus Intercontinental South Africa title. Accordingly, Ms Hou works for DSACR as the Deputy Director responsible for Special Programmes and has previously served as the Personal Assistant to the Member of the Executive (MEC) from 2015 until 2019. DSACR MOURNS PASSING OF VETERAN ACTOR – DR SAM PHILLIPS

The South African creative industry has suffered another loss and this time around the nation mourns the passing on of a veteran film actor, producer, writer and director – Dr Sam Phillips – whose works is internationally acclaimed having been nominated for an Oscar in 1990 for his lead role in a Senzeni Na? short-film. Dr Phillips was also recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Zululand during its 2020 graduation ceremony.
