The Free State MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Me Mathabo Leeto will be handing over Sport Equipment and Attire to 50 Sport Clubs and 12 Sport Hubs. This programme is aimed at affording youth & senior citizens with resources in order to grant equal opportunities to all our people irrespective of their background.

====DSACR YOUTH GAMES POSTPONED====
 
Members of the media and the public are hereby notified that the DSACR Youth Games which were scheduled to take place on 23 June 2018 at the Meqheleng Stadium in Ficksburg have been postponed until further notice. The Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation hereby wishes to apologize for any inconvenience caused.

The SAMAs are the Recording Industry of South Africa's music awards, established in 1995 and hosted annually to celebrate and honor local musicians, producers and engineers who create music in our country.

The Free State MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Mrs. Mathabo Leeto would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Free State Stars football club for a sterling performance during the 2018 Nedbank Cup tournament. On 21 April 2018, Free State Stars defeated Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 in the semifinal match held at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban thus ensuring a spot in the final of the tournament which saw Free State Stars locking horns with Maritzburg United at the Cape Town stadium over the weekend (19 May 2018).
