FREE STATE PROVINCIAL HERITAGE DAY CELEBRATIONS 2019The Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will commemorate Heritage Day through a series of activities that are aimed at fostering social cohesion in our communities as well as recognizing and celebrating the cultural wealth of our nation. In general, South Africans commemorate this day by remembering the cultural heritage of the many cultures and traditions that make up the diverse population of our country. Read more...
INCIDENT OF FIRE AT THE DEPARTMENT OF SACR BUILDINGOn the 22nd September 2019 a section of the Sport and Recreation building of the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR), caught fire. The incident apparently occurred in the morning of that day. The fire was extinguished by the fire extinguishers from the Mangaung Metro Municipality, this after a damage was caused on the ground floor of the building. The Fire Investigator and the Forensic expert from the South African Police Service came to the scene from the 23rd September 2019 to further determine the cause of the fire as part of the broad investigation. It is anticipated that the report will be finalized by Monday the 30 th September 2019. Read more...
