This now brings finality to the long and protracted Relief Fund for Artists and Athletes process that started around March/April 2020 following the Declaration of a State of Disaster by His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa. DSACR CELEBRATES TOP 16 IDOLS CONTESTANTS FROM FREE STATEIt is with a great sense of joy and pride that the Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) has learnt about the selection of two (2) Free State singers into the Top 16 of South African Idols. Namely, these singers are Sibongile “Bongi” Mtambo from Welkom and Boitumelo “Be” Mohutsioa from Mangaung. News of their selection into the Top 16 of South African Idols has been received with jubilation across the Free State Province and the Department encourages all the people of our province to demonstrate their unwavering support to both Be and Bongi through voting as soon as voting lines are opened. FREE STATE POET – MOSHE SEKHOBO – WINS AVBOB POETRY COMPETITIONThe Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) is proud to announce that one of its own prolific authors and poets, Moshe Samuel Sekhobo, is the 2019/2020 AVBOB Poetry Competition award winner. He won 1st place in the Sesotho Language Category. The AVBOB Poetry Competition is a national competition that includes all 11 South African languages in all the 9 Provinces; with 15,000 poets competing in all 11 South African languages. Read more...
